I. Mechanical Properties
Bidirectional equal-strength structure. During the molding process, the glass fibers are continuously laid in both the warp and weft directions, resulting in similar mechanical properties in both directions. There is no single weak direction, and any direction of support can bear the load. This is different from the single-directional load characteristic of the pultrusion grid.
Light in weight, with good bending resistance. Under the same load conditions, its weight is much lower than that of steel grating; the bearing capacity is significantly affected by the span, and the deflection is usually the load control indicator.
Good resistance to impact and cracking. It is formed by a single-piece molding process without joints, and local impact is unlikely to cause the entire piece to break; however, its rigidity is weaker than that of steel, and it will deform more under heavy load and long-span conditions.
Local holes can be cut. After on-site cutting, there will be no large-scale layer separation, but the opening position will weaken the local bearing capacity. Avoid opening holes near the support.
II. Corrosion Resistance
Resistant to acid, alkali, salt spray, and organic solvents, without rusting, and no need for painting for rust prevention maintenance. Ordinary polyester resin is suitable for neutral and weakly corrosive environments; vinyl ester resin can cope with strong acids, strong alkalis, and strong oxidizing media.
Not eroded by seawater, sewage, or chemical wastewater. Widely used in sewage treatment plants, offshore platforms, and chemical walkways.
Long-term exposure to high temperature and strong solvents will gradually age, with a slow decline in strength. In high-temperature corrosive conditions, safety margins need to be reserved.
III. Electrical and Safety Characteristics
Non-conductive insulation, suitable for distribution rooms, electrochemical workshop walkways, avoiding leakage risks.
Optional flame-retardant formula. Adding flame-retardant resin can achieve the corresponding flame-retardant grade. The ordinary model is flammable, and a specified flame-retardant system must be used in open flame environments.
The surface has a self-generating anti-slip texture with ridges and depressions, providing better anti-slip performance than smooth panel materials; in humid and oily environments, a thicker anti-slip layer style can be selected.
Spark-free characteristic. Heavy objects impacting will not produce sparks, suitable for flammable and explosive areas.
